" Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference."
I am in search of calm and peace.
Today I sit, writing in a gazebo by the train tracks - a place I call my own,
I am untroubled by daily demands of my time and presence.
I am present for myself.
I accept myself for who I am - a Mom preoccupied with the lives of my grown children. A wife supported by a caring husband. A daughter of an aging Mom. A loyal confidante to a few close friends. I have much to be thankful for.
Feeling safe or at ease without stress is a comfortable place to be. This feeling has at times precluded me from experiencing new activities or environments. I recognize the many times I did have the courage to try something new.
If your serenity comes from a safe place - find it. Learn from life lessons. Give yourself some grace. Have the courage to pursue your dreams. Experience life to its fullest.
I found serenity in a gazebo close to the train tracks.
