I love to create images that look simple and classic so that they will stand that test of time. You will want to keep your images for your lifetime to share with your children and their children.
The Consultation
Each maternity session is designed around what you want, your vision, and how you want to remember this special time. During the consultation we will discuss all of those ideas and how best to achieve them.
What will you wear?
I have a variety of different maternity gowns, fitted dresses and flowing fabrics at the studio that you may use for your session. These may be used in addition to, or instead of, items that you have in your own maternity wardrobe. Nudity or implied nudity is always a classic way to remember you pregnancy curves and is completey optional.
Your Session
I'll Help You Pose
I love posing women of all different shapes and sizes to flatter them and their bodies. That is true for maternity portrait sessions as well. The focus of the image is a delicate balance between your belly and you, one shouldn't overwhelm the other. I'll lead you through all the positions that will still retain a sense of self while accentuating the beautiful curves of the life growing in you. I will use lighting to highlight all the beautiful things about pregnancy and if you have concerns about some areas you are not happy with, let me know and those will be addressed with fabrics, lighting, posing or retouching.
My aim is to make you as comfortable and relaxed as possible whether it be your first time having a professional portrait session or whether you are in front of the camera regularly. When you are at ease and feeling beautiful it will shine through in your images.
Manhattan Studio
Your maternity session will take place in my studio. That's where you will have access to the studio wardrobe, the different backgrounds, the lovely natural light as well as my studio lighting.
Hair and Makeup
Hair and makeup is optional but highly recommended for your session and I have a few talented artists that I love to work with regularly. Having this done at the studio gives you a chance to relax and settle in, enjoy an hour of pampering before we start your session. The artist will remain for most of the session making sure that you look your best from every angle.
Retouching
Each image ordered from your session will be expertly retouched. I aim to keep the images as natural looking as possible, true to the real you but enhanced to show you at your best.
Products
Yes I offer digital files but I also offer albums, framed art and folio boxes. All beautiful ways to preserve your gorgeous images for future generations.
Images may be displayed as multiple images in one frame, individually matted and stored in a portfolio box, matted and framed to display on the wall individually or as part of a gallery wall, or grouped together to form a story in an album.

I have the ability to make even the most nervous client feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera, letting your true beauty shine through whether you are completely clothed or trying some nude portraits for the first time.
In the past, I have been a fashion photographer and have since worked with mentors to perfect how to pose and flatter all different body types from petites, plus size to tall and slim. I'm always looking out for what will best suit your shape to create classic, beautiful images.
I have sourced out beautiful products from different labs around the world that cater to professional photographers and have even visited some of the factories. This way I know that the products I offer will stand the test of time and are truly made by artisans.
